LSD Acid

LSD Addiction Treatment Program

CALL US TODAY

314-631-4299

End your battle with LSD abuse today with our medically-assisted, patient-focused detox program

LSD (also known as ”acid”) is a hallucinogen that doesn’t produce the same compulsive drug-seeking behavior like other drugs like cocaine or heroin; however, it still isn’t safe to abuse. It doesn’t make the brain to feel the need to use the drug constantly, but it creates a tolerance very quickly.

While a physical addiction doesn’t occur when you use LSD, a psychological addiction may occur. They might feel like they need to take the drug in order to be creative or to feel like themselves even though it

LSD doesn’t produce effects that are desirable all the time like euphoria, and it can cause adverse reactions (bad trips) that lead to fear, anxiety, and paranoia. Frequent LSD use is potentially dangerous and can negatively impact a person’s thoughts, emotions, and behavior.

Stopping LSD use ”cold turkey” after a period of sustained use doesn’t cause significant physical withdrawal symptoms; however, if you have been using LSD, you can experience depressive or psychotic symptoms.

The first step in our LSD addiction treatment program is a medical detox with a licensed doctor to keep patients as safe and comfortable as possible. After the medical detox is complete, we move on to the next steps in the rehab process.

How do I know if I’m addicted to LSD?

Even though LSD is not highly addictive, that doesn’t mean it is safe to use. It is still a Schedule I Substance under the Controlled Substances Act and the side effects can be unpredictable. It can be difficult for a user to know whether they are taking a ”moderate” or ”high” dose of LSD, which can lead to accidentally taking a higher dose than they intended and experiencing a negative psychological reaction.

Chronic use of LSD can easily interfere with your social and work life. Some signs that you or a loved one has a problem with LSD use are:

  • Taking more LSD than was intended
  • Taking another substances with LSD in order to heighten the experience of LSD
  • Spending substantial amounts of money or time getting and using LSD
  • Neglecting professional and personal responsibilities or hobbies as a result of continual LSD use

If you have any or several of these physical or behavioral symptoms, please contact Harris House today at 314-328-7938 to talk with one of our counselors about an evaluation and admission.
